Get Ready to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Greater Milwaukee Area

On St. Patrick’s Day, everyone seems to have a little bit of Irish in them. From wearing green to eating corn beef and cabbage to celebrating at local establishments, St. Patrick’s Day is a day to have fun and share in the Irish traditions.

ShamROCK in Westown is Milwaukee’s official St. Patrick’s Day Parade Kick-off. The celebration starts at 5:30pm on Friday, March 11 at Miller Time Pub on Wisconsin Avenue.

The 45th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade is a favorite of many. The parade is this Saturday, March 12 at 12pm. It will feature over 170 units, including local politicians, celebrities, floats, bagpipe and marching bands and of course Irish and Celtic dancers and organizations. It starts at 3rd and Wisconsin then proceeds to Plankinton, Kilbourn, Old World Third Street, Juneau and ends on Water Street.

After the parade until 6pm stop by the Irish Cultural and Heritage Center on Wisconsin Avenue for a free party featuring four stages of entertainment, headlined by Different Drums of Ireland.

Other fun activities include the Blarney 5K run/walk on Saturday, March 12 at 11:30am. The run/walk benefits the preservation and educational actitivies of the Wauwatosa Historical Society.

Mo’s Irish Pub and other local establishments kick off St. Patrick’s Day immediately following the parade on March 12 and continue celebrating straight through closing time on St. Patrick’s Day.

On St. Patrick’s Day, head over to the Town of Erin in Washington County for their annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade. It starts at 11am at Hwy K and Log House Road and ends at Hwy. K and Hwy 167. This fun parade is one you don’t want to miss.
